OK now, new plugs, 4 new o2 sensors, still a stumble in idle if i sit at a stoplight to long, codes 138 and 139 come up if i step on it and give it the gas. it runs great down the road at 80-120. 43k original 1 owner miles, it pees me that my 4 other 40 yr.old lincolns and tbirds idle smoother than the Q , hell my 83 300SD with 400K idles smoother. what the hell gives? why is infiniti clueless too? butonoptions

There's a TSB about this for the 1999-2001 Y33:

It involves reprogramming the ECU to allow a longer engine warm up time before turning on your O2 sensor heater to evaporate condensation. It might apply to yours.

I seem to remember one of our regular NICO posters (maxnix) mentioning repeatedly that the TSB's are important.

I haven't examined the F50 TSB lately, but the FGY33 has about twice as many as the G50.

The point is, while not all are technically vital, miss one of the latter and your car could suffer significant life or performance loss.

On the other hand, even model year paint codes and how to procedures included in the non-critical ones are worthwhile reading.

Good to hear from another Q-code owner! It's the wife's car - had it since 1985. We did a full body restoration on it several years ago - that gorgeous red. Ours has a white landau - wish we had the 'vert. The interior is completely original and perfect - AM 8 track still works! Now it needs a full suspension job - the springs have sagged Then, sigh, gotta go after the engine and transmission. 42 years takes its toll.

I love the body lines on the "Flair" 'birds - eternal style.

I'm not certain the TSB will solve your problem, but it turned up in a search for your 0138 and 0139 codes. Might get some attention from the dealership, too.
