Hey guys,

I'm a new member, wondering if any one could help me out.

I have a Q45/G50 and have just done the Tokico blue install. I have an extremely bouncy ride, especially in the rear. I'm looking for a spring kit, that would blend sportiness and comfort, as well as lowering the stance. Most kits are now discontinued, but I have come across JIC Magic coils which I can order in an array of sizes and heights. Has anyone purchased these? Are they any good, would anyone know the height ans rate that would best suit the Q.

Thanks

Tom

There are 2 maybe 3 guys running coilovers on a G50, they seem to want them for the greater "drop". Search for some posts by one ton garage, I think he put some on a friends car.

MAn i wonder if someone messed up the install, because the ride with the tokicos I had was amazing. It was taught, but still compliant for bumps.. Not bouncy at all, rode like most BMWs do.

"Bouncy"??

Must mean a different word. With no shocks at all, the ride would be bouncy - just springs. With new shocks, the ride would be stiff, if anything. When I replaced my rears with new blues, the ride was maybe a bit stiffer - barely noticeable.

Maybe you mean something more like "harsh" or "bumpy"? If you failed to replace the bump stops, you might be feeling every crack in the road. But under no circumstances should any new shock ever feel "bouncy".

Well, especially in the rear, it's as though once i go over a bump at normal speed, there is a "wave" of the rear shocks going up and down and up and down. When i go over a speed bump at 5-10km/h (im in canada) there is a harshness to the release. Again, the install was tokico hp blues.

The JIC Magics can be had, but they're spendy. Here are a couple threads on the subject:
