Has anyone out there installed one of the Stillen rear spoilers on their '90 - '93 Q45 and if so, were you happy with the fit and finish, how tough was it to install and lastly, does the trunk lid stay open without modifying the trunk springs. Thanks for the feedback!!

Hey Gary! Welcome to NICO!!! Have you purchased the Stillen unit? If not, I think our very own jefftrexler has access to those for a good price.

Where are you in Phoenix? How did you hear about us?

If you fit a spolier that extends past the boot, remember not to lift the boot with the stereo on, or you will bend the ariel when the spoiler catches it.

The best argument for the stock t spoiler, which will require a different rear parcel shelf since the CHMB is moved to the spoiler.

If you add a "T" spoiler, you'll want to update the springs. I test drove one once that had an added factory spoiler and the trunk would slam shut from about the halfway point - just too heavy for the standard springs. You also couldn't open it with the door switch since it wouldn't pop open...

I partially agree.

I had a base model with the t spoiler and it was ok.(maybe someone had updated the springs.)

But then I had a base with an aftermarket spoiler and it was too heavy for the springs. So the trunk opener didn't work either just like heath described.

Fred...:)

I have been told that the trunk springs are the same on all models of G50, and there are no alternatives. Don't know if Joe Tesensky can confirm. Model t spoiler is not that heavy.

Seems like they could be retensioned to provide lift on latch release.

I think I'll poke around for the factory spoiler, parcel shelf and torsions springs from some salvage yeards to see if anything pops up and then check with the Infiniti stores here in Phoenix to get price on the new parts. I do know that if you don't change the springs and add the factory spoiler, it doesn't work and will exentually bang you or someone else in the head. Thanks for the replys.
