My 94 Q45t is comming up on the 100K miles mark and I am planning on changing the spark plugs myself. The local dealer wants $500 parts and labor to do this which sounds like this is a hard job (or at least a high profit one). I've changed lots of plugs in my time but don't want to get in over my head. How hard is this job and what are the pitfalls/tips to watch out for? I was planning on using OEM plugs or is there something better to consider?

I was commenting on the need to pull the plenum to change the spark plugs.

Plugs are a three hour job with some mechanical skills. Budget a couple more for the first time.

Once you start, the process is pretty obvious. Do one side at a time, lable things as they come apart, use dielectric gease on electrical connections, and DON'T break the connectors going into the coils.

Use only NGK plugs and expect to pay anywhere from $7.50 to $12.00 each depending on your source.

Remove the whole harness at a time per side, don't try to do one at a time or you'll break the wires or connectors. For removing most of the coils, it's easier if you remove the silver brackets before your pull the coil/boot off the plug. Reverse that process to reinstall. All this is much easier than it sounds, go for it.

Didn't JT assume sponsorship of the Yahoo board? There is still life there, but the board doesn't work worth a damn.

I always refer people with technical questions to posts here.

Those WERE the good ol' days, weren't they.... I remember lurking for 3 months because I was so in awe of all the great information.

I've been "sniping" on a few other Infiniti sites to try and redirect traffic to "The Greatest".

There should be a rule:

No one shall become a full-fledged "member" until Dennis has properly chastized him. :D

Don't feel too bad bro, an "enlightment" by Dennis is a recurring theme for me.
