For the first time in nearly 3 years, I have a complete working Bose sound system in my 90 Q.

I had Bose "rebuild" the speakers and amps. Actually I think they just send you all new stuff. That's what it looks like to me.

Anyway, the system sounds really good, but not what I would call great. It seems like it is one good subwoofer away.

My wife's Expedition has one and that system rocks.

Any thoughts on this? May 1990 technology has given way to what's available in 2003.

One interesting difference... in the Ford, you can crank the audio all the way and still want a bit more... in the Q, just a little more than half way is about all you can take.. (at least with the windows up, driving on the interstate)

nat - You can add a sub to the Q system.

Low $$$: Start w/a powered Bazooka and hook into the line-level inputs to rear speakers. Serves the purpose well.

Bigger $$$: Go with the adapter off the back of the deck (high-end car audio shops will have 'em) to a good amp and an Infinity BassLink cabinet. May overpower the factory mids/tweets.

I originally called 800-237-2673.

They had to get info...and send you and OEM return sticker....

Then I sent the speakers in to the following address:

Bose OEM Customer Service145 Pennsylvania AvenueFramingham, MA. 01701

I did get a chance at one point to talk to a guy by the name of Tim Tingley... however, another time the company ran interference.

This should get you started. From the time I got the info from them to the time I got the speakers back was probably 5 weeks...

I've seen pwered models around that price - Check eBay for sure.

Hmmm. Line level.... Not certain as I only saw Jed's (AZQ45's) setup ONCE. He had his installed at a local audio shop (sounded nice).
