Nissan announced sales of q45 {or lack of} grand total of 296 q45 have been sold between jan 01-june 30 this year- I say, kill the poor thing before it becomes a poor joke on Leno! Imagine how hard it will be to find replacement parts in 7-10 years on NICO for these!

The new Q costs a lot of money (over 70 grand I think). With the M being a superior car IMO, why would ANYONE get the Q over the M? It really doesnt make much sense.. I guess theres only 296 idiots in this country in the last 6 months...

You guys are looking at this all wrong:

The low sales numbers just mean that you can find a 2 year old (but still "new") Q for dirt cheap.

Change that "2" to a "5" or a "6", and you'd be reading my mind...

Over 70 grand? And you're a moderator on the Q45 forum Wes!?! JK, lol, it's around 60k, which is lot's of money, but still, about 20-30 cheaper than a BMW 7 or MBZ S.

Yeha youre right.. I remember reading on a site thats how much they were but now that i remember i think it was a canadian site. The bottom line is its way out of my price range, so 10 grand doesnt really matter!

regardless of the semantics, the M45 sport is still 10 grand cheaper and clearly a better buy.

A fully loaded Q is around $62k, as is a fully loaded M45. The majority of Q's sold are around $57k. Not much of a difference there. Consider that most dealers only carry 1 or 2 Q45's on their lot to begin with, and there's no adertising behind them what-so-ever, which is why they sell in such low numbers. We have one Q45 right now that's a 2005 carryover (yes, it's brand new). For sale for $47k down 10k from the original price. Yet, nobody is pushing it to sell it.

Wes is right though, you drive a Q45, then drive an M, it's a no brainer which one the customer will take. One thing I notice is that the ones that will take a Q45 have owned one previously (see Edmunds.com Q45 reviews for proof of this).

I would definately get a new Q (2005 carryover) if they are selling for $40,000 to $42,000. I've seen it happened before.

Your right, when they cannot get rid of them right at the end of the run they often discount heavily. In 2000 when I bought my 97' I could have got a 2000 Ann Edition for really cheap since the word was already out on the new 02' Q coming and how great it was going to be.....it is still a hell of a nice car, but frankly just for the same money I'd take the M or LS430, but if you could get one for 42k LOADED that would be hard to pass up. My dad's partner bought a sport M for mid-50's out the door, so that would be alot less...by the way, he turned in an S500 and loves the M45 hands down over the S500.
