Hi Folks,

I'm looking to order rotors all around for my 90' Q.

First, forgive me for not performing a search on this and reading through all the posts. Time and work constraints prevent me at the moment and I really want to order these things asap.

Please feed me the knowledge on which of the cross-drilled rotors out there are the best performing for the money and also the best place to buy em.

I am going to put cross-drilled on the fronts and will probably go with OEM on the back. I wanted to change the calipers too but cost might prevent me at the moment since I'm also going to replace front-driver's side wheel bearing.

All advice welcomed.

You will get only what you pay for, and this includes time spent learning what you want you to buy.

for discussion on this very topic currently running:

On the front every ounce more is benefical in lowering peak rotor temperatures. However drilled can lower whatever temperature they get to - faster [for repeat stops].

Generally on single 80 mph to zero DRY stops rotor type may not make a measurable difference...........if the material densities of the iron are the same............on WET stops the drilled may let the steam out better on stops that exceed 2 seconds duration when the rotor rises above 212F .........all depends on the rotor temp prior to stop.

Most stops are completed before the heat has time to transfer to the wheels..........thru hubs to bearings.

So I guess a good question is, who makes the heaviest drilled rotors? Unfortunately, I don't have the rotors to weigh them.

$229 including free Zinc plating. Do see the thread in "Infinit General" about their current supplier being EMC now - instead of Bradi and Brembo.

The PowerStops weight the same as oem rotors even with the drilled holes...............others weight up to a pound less each.

Some companies cheat by having more air space and less metal on tthe front units.

Thanks for all the replies folks. I ended up reading quite a few posts on this subject.

As said in another post, iRotors is now using a supplier called EMC for their rotors because of a Bradi/Brembo lawsuit which has cut off supplies. I called and checked with them... I asked them about quality differences and their reply (of course) is that there is no difference and their customers have no complaints. They beamed that EMC is "An American Company!"....(Why trade with companies all the way in Italy in the first place then?) I asked about weight differences in the OEM versus their cross-drilled rotors .... "Well, they are the same weight before being drilled but the drilling process will reduce the weight by the amount of material removed".... What really bothers me though is that they are waiving shipping fees for Acura/Honda owners while charging shipping for everyone else!!!... I asked if the same courtesy could be extended to Nissan/Infiniti owners and was given a flat out... "Absolutely not!"....

Even so, I might still buy from these people because their price beats the pants off everyone else.

I ordered a set of drilled rotors for my 90Q on the 6/19 and as of today... still no rotors!

Left msg last week and was contacted today. I was told that they had misplaced my order sheet and they were not shipped yet. They offered to ship them out 2nd day air.... I asked that they refund all shipping charges since I had waited so long... they refused so I cancelled the order.

So...where's the best place to go for powerstops?

Go to http://www.powerstopbrakes.com

Their pricing isn't up yet but it says you can call their toll-free number for all that. FWIW, Joe from Scottsdale quotes 81.21 each for the front rotors and I'm sure somewhere around that for the rears.
