Q45 Rod Knocking question

I sold my Q45 and the guy called the next day and said it overheated and threw a rod. When I got it back I noticed that he had added a heavy duty supercharged kind of breather onto the car right by the air cleaner box at the front.

Could this thing have messed up the rods?

You took it back after he blew it?

That 'popcharger' does nothing but make noise and increase intake temp. He probably did an WOT run, failed to notice the fuel knocking from cheap gas and failed to notice rapidly rising temp and melted a piston which seized and then broke the rod. I'd like to hear post-mortem on the engine.

if the car was running fine before you sold it to him, and you drove the car hard, then I agree with them. he probably put cheap gas into it!!! Shame!!

Id stick to your word if you think the car was well maintained... Q45 motors hardly fail unless the owner does something they shouldnt!! (and 7300 RPM is not included in those "donts")

Opps...I read the other posts and it seems like you had the right idea (parting it out) to begin with...You allready knew the car was a mess...
