Hey all I'm new here posting but I have been reading these forums for quite some time. I have a 1989 Nissan 240sx that I am planning on putting an ls1 in. I want to upgrade the rear end. I want the final drive of the q45 but lsd. I found an s13 lsd and. Q45 lsd. I know the half shafts are diff and the axles on the q45 but does it mount in otherwise? If I change out the ring and pinion gear on the s13 to the q45 will I have any issues with the install? Function of the lsd? Has anyone done this? Should I just get the q45 ring and pinion gear and a kaaz, tomei or other aftermarket lsd? Do those work with the stock open diff half shafts?

Thanks any response is appreciated.

Hi bb240sx, welcome to NICO Club!

Sorry about the slow response time. We have a handful of articles about the differential swap options. Here's some links to a few:

You'll notice at the bottom of each article are more links (in red) that lead to similar topics, so look further for more information.
