right now i have a set of front Q45 brakes on the car. i can get my hands on the MC and rear brakes of a Q45 from my friend. is it worth it and would the MC work on my non-ABS S14? i searched and all that came up were some stuck pin posts....

i have front Z brakes, and opted to replace pads/rotors/lines in the rear. I dont think it would be worth the extra money and time, however it would give you better braking bias and such. Also a larger rear rotor would be less prone to overheating. Unless u REALLY need the extra braking power on top of the massive 2 pistons u have on the front, i wouldnt worry about it

Hey matt4pl, where did you get your Q calipers? I want to do Q45 fronts too but I can't decide if I should do the autozone core exchange or just go to a junkyard.

the reason i wanna put the rear Q45's on is cause i can get em for cheap and make it a complete setup. my friend's got a Q45 parts car sitting around that i can get stuff off of.

i got them from a yard but got new rotors. paid like $50 plus shipping including barely used pads that i jsut sanded down a bit.

Bump this thread up.

I need to know if the Q45 rear brake rotors and calipers will bolt onto a 5 lug S14 without any mods?

Yes, if you remove the dust shield

Picked up my rear set today. Is there anything that can be done to retain the E-Brake? I noticed how different it was between the S13 and Q45.Thanks...

Just finished up installing the Q45 rear brake set up. Just bolted right on. I had to cut the hell out of the dust shield, but its on now.. and works great I just need to come up with a E-Brake optinon. Can the 4 lug hub be used with the complete q45 rear E-brake set up? I really dont want to go with a 5 lug hub because I just bought my 4 lug wheels 2 weeks ago.. Thanks...

But he wants to retain his parking brake, not just swap rotors & calipers.

Will the master brake cylinder from a Q45 bolt on a S13? or is the Z32 the only MBC upgrade that bolts on? Still working on the E-Brake problem. I have to figure something out. Its nice to have the brake upgrade, but man, do I miss the E-Brake...

sorry to bump an old thread but im gonna do the z brakes up front and was looking into the q's for the rear. i want to retain my e-brake is it any more difficult to do the drum e-brake swap with the z calipers opposed to the q calipers. what about j30 rears also will they work?

The ebrake assemblies are the same on the q45 and the z32.

i just went and got some reman s13 calipers from discount auto for the rear and while i was there i checked out the fact that they have reman z32 front brake calipers ,master cylinders, lines, and rotors for under 375 and the remanufactured calipers still say nissan on them. too late for me though i already got a full z32 set(aluminum front calipers, pads ,m/c and lines) from powerline (george is a cool *** dude ++4 for powerline) for a good p/r shipped out of a 91 car with 88000 miles on it. once driven concepts gets my silvia hood and paints up my **** its gonna be hard core as hell

you can still run the ebrake system with the 4 lug hub. its the same as the 5 lug but just one less lug. but only part you need to mod is the rotors which is drilling to 4 lug.

rear 5lug hub in the q45 is the same as the S14's, S15's, Z32 etc etc... you get the point. all of them are swappable.

shaft nut on all are 36mm.

been a long time since i last posted on this thread, but w.e

Not quite accurate. There is a difference. Later model z's had a spacer that was part of the bearing that the brake anchor pin went through. It's 8mm if you're interested in the difference of height. You can't just press a z32 bearing into a 4 lug hub since there's a slight angle that the bearing is set at. You can possibly use a bunch of spacers or get a shop to make one for you.
