Sorry to jump over to your board but I need some help and you guys seem to be the experts. I have transplanted a BMW M3 driveline into my Triumph TR6 which runs its power through a 95 Q45 R200 VLSD. The current ratio is factory (3.538:1) and the BMW Trans 5th gear is 1.0:1 and my tire diameter is 25". With the BMW transmission I pretty much can't use 1st gear and I'm turning 3K RPMs at 63mph. I'm trying to get it down to 2500 RPMs at 60mph so I'd like to find a supplier of ring and pinion sets for this diff.

Does anyone make sets in the 3.0:1-3.3:1 range for my R200 VLSD?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dave

First off, I'm pretty sure that the Q45's diff is the r230, not the r200 (someone correct me if i'm wrong). The r200 is what is used on 240's, skylines and the N/A 300zx. The r230 to my knowlodge was only used on the Q45 and the 300zx TT beacuse of their more powerful engines. Its a beefer dif. because of this. Anyway, the 3.538:1 diff that you have right now is probably lowest stock gear ratio for a nissan. Most nissan cars with the r200 run anywhere from a 3.8 - 4.3. Most people try to increase the gear ratio for better acceration, so I think it would be pretty diffcult to find a ring and pinon set that decreases it.

Awesome project by the way, good luck with it.

Nisssan motorsports catalog list a 3.545 set p#38100-13s01 ring gear od 200mm and an id of 128mm uses 12mm gear bolt 1.25 thread pitch. try emailing them . this part isn't much different than the ratio you have [email protected]
