Here's some pictures of the project so far.

I've been working on 240's since 1999 and loved the S14 bodystyle before I even knew what it was. I just liked that rounded RWD Nissan coupe thing. Esp. the one with the cool headlights. But I had an old Bimmer back then and have had a couple of BMW's since. I decided I wanted a real project about a year ago and bought the S13 coupe you see here. IMHO the only better looking S-chassis than the Coupe S13 is the S15.

Hurricane Frances killed my '95 325is, so I bought a workhorse Previa van and decided to really finish the S13. About the only thing I had done in the garage here at my apartment was strip the car to a shell with windows.

If you can't tell from the hood pictures, I'm doing a S14 Kouki front on the car. The S14 Kouki front end just flows so much better with the sharp angular S13 coupe than it does on the rounded S14 body, and most people I know agree that as a whole package, the Zenki flows better.

So anyway, I'm not gonna caption each picture, it's way too late and I need to go to bed, but basically what we have here is as follows, in approximate order:

1989 S13 coupe, 90% straight body, rust mostly near battery tray. The shell now weighs about 300lbs with windows still, all insulating material removed.

My car being taken to the shop where I'm making the cage and seam-welding it all.

MA70 Toyota Supra Turbo towing 2 axle trailer .

Motor-mounts in mockup and final product, (yes the stanchions are based on 240sx LCA's, S13 specifically).

S13 front x-member with original mount pads removed and custom 2 piece motor-mounts.

S15 rear subframe with Z32 uprights and spring/shocks.

Z33 transmission (39inches/100cm long!!!) This bugger is gonna require some transmission tunnel mods.

1997 Q45 VH41DE.

Test fitting in a S14 Silvia front clip.

Inconel headers from a JUDD V8 with v-band collectors (I'm still entertaining the idea of a single turbo) Car is using these headers either way though.

Here's a photoshop of something near the finished car; minus the wheels and GP kit, maybe an Ings+1 kit in its place.

That's awesome!

Wherabouts are you in FLA?

What's a Judd V8?

Do you mind if I ask why you chose a VH41? Someone once said they were more narrow than a VH45.

Cool, a Japanese Mustang with a V8 & IRS.

Nice headers! Who produced them? Will that all really fit?

VH41DE is slightly more oversquare than a VH45DE. Retuning it for high rpm power instead of low rpm torque should be interesting.

Please keep us updated.

I used to live in Orlando myself, so I know Paul, Ray, Jay, Mike P. and most of the rest of the guys up there. These days I live in Palm Beach but I'm usually in Orlando or near for a drift event every month or two.

I picked the VH41 because it is newer, cleaner looking manifold design, shorter stroke (high revs), possibly a shorter deck height for a narrower over all engine (not confirmed yet), simpler VTC setup, and lighter than VH45 because almost everything on the VH41 is alum. It is also the last closed deck V8 Nissan made, not to mention I can't afford a VK if i even wanted it anyway. Believe it or not, this project is still well under 10k.

JUDD engines are engines designed by John Judd originally for F1 then later stroked with a lower rpm max for sportscar use. A variant of one of his motors even ran in Indy. Look up Judd V8 and Judd V10 on google images. Check http://www.engdev.com/ for more. If you've been to an ALMS/IMSA race in the last 5 years and heard a shriek nearing that of an F1 car, thats a JUDD V10 most likely

Awesome! What a transformation. Can you believe my sister in law just left one in a mechanic's lot until he considered it abandoned?
