I used to live in Orlando myself, so I know Paul, Ray, Jay, Mike P. and most of the rest of the guys up there. These days I live in Palm Beach but I'm usually in Orlando or near for a drift event every month or two.
I picked the VH41 because it is newer, cleaner looking manifold design, shorter stroke (high revs), possibly a shorter deck height for a narrower over all engine (not confirmed yet), simpler VTC setup, and lighter than VH45 because almost everything on the VH41 is alum. It is also the last closed deck V8 Nissan made, not to mention I can't afford a VK if i even wanted it anyway. Believe it or not, this project is still well under 10k.
JUDD engines are engines designed by John Judd originally for F1 then later stroked with a lower rpm max for sportscar use. A variant of one of his motors even ran in Indy. Look up Judd V8 and Judd V10 on google images. Check
