Hi All:

I have a 96 Q45 with paint code CG 2 (Pebble Biege). I need to repaint my bumpers and sunroof - does anybody have a brand name or source where I can get an exact match? So far, I've seen "close, but not quite" when it comes to matching the color. By the way, I know how to paint so I do not necessarily need a spray can.

I appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

personally what I would do is go to a paint shop and have them match it to your paint. your paint has likely faded a little bit so the factory color wont match perfect, even if its an exact match to what went on the car in 1996.

You can also go to an automotive paint store. They have books, with samples. There where 8 different paint samples for the same color code on my 94q Ivory Quartz. The paint formulation changed slightly by yearl

Really? News to me.

The paint codes by year are in the TSB. For the bumpers, be sure some elastomer is in the paint so it will flex with the bumper.

Thats what the guy at the paint shop said, If someone is killed in a hit and run it sure helps narrow down what year the car is from.

Id go with wes suggestion.I work in body and paint myself and theres more to things than just mixing the paint to match. the distance from the gun to the primer can effect the shade of color in paint.......
