It kinda looks like you would have to get the entire front clip. What I would like to see more would be a projector headlight swap for the 90-93 Q, only cause there is one in the family and cause HID kicks a s s.

yeah you would need the whole shabang (hood, fenders, bumper, headlights etc..) just like a silvia headlight conversion, it still bolts on though.

Fenders, hood and radiator support are all unique to the President (believe it or not).

I want that body kit and those wheels (AND those mirrors!) Damn, that's a sexy beast.

Same stats as the USDM Q45:

278 (advertised) hp (more like 300+).

Mid 15's in the quarter, top speed of 160... Kind of like Oprah on crack.

I think that car looks damn sexy but I still love the look of my first-gen Q. It's so unique that it doesn't REALLY look like much else.

Nick :)

BTW, I think it'd be cool to swap those 2002+ headlights into a first-gen Q and I know that Wes apparently had the hookups for a custom-made grille. Decisions, decisions.

Its weird, i read on a site that they still make the G50 president in japan (alot like they continued to make the S13 180sx along side of the s14 silvia). I dont think it will be that hard getting a front end it that is the case :)

G50 Production ended in 2002 in Japan. Not quite the same as a Q45, also produced in Japan until Mid 90s.

Bet you didn't read that it was still in production on this site.__________________Brian1995 Q45 & Q45t & 2000 Q45

Interesting that the new President [stretched CIMA] only expects 450 sales per year and as I remember they never sold more than 800 [vs US peak of 13,000] in any year.............these say <3000 [89-93] are where the JDM engines come from.

Seems like half these engines have showed up in US and Canada.

I wonder if anyone in the US has a president........? Who cares if you drive on the passenger side, the mailman can do it!!!!

If you guys are still interested in those grilles, draw me up a sketch and Ill submit it to the company...... I am NOT the artsy type.......

I think also it would be more feasible to drop in the 1999-2001 Q HID headlights...... You probably would only have to do minimal body work.........

Using JDM headlights on a US car is a bad idea. They are designed for RHD cars and will put a lot of light into the eyes of oncoming drivers when used on a car driven on the right side of the road.

Yep, and when that postman drives home at night in his car, I guarantee it is left hand drive. Only the most rural of carriers take their RHD vehicles home at night.__________________Brian1995 Q45 & Q45t & 2000 Q45

No, not at all!

The beam kick-up is on the left as opposed to the right side. Look at your light pattern when you drive tonight.__________________Brian1995 Q45 & Q45t & 2000 Q45

from my experience, its a pain in the *** to do headlight conversions. I was thinking of getting one-piece Cefiro heads, and including shipping it would be $370. Then i'd have to buy a H4 harness, and H4 bulbs (which the President probably uses) are around $40 a bulb. Plus, i'd have to cut pieces of the body out.

I chose to spend the money on new exh or maybe an intake. I'm gonna have to opt for go over show.

Always a better choice in a dynamic vehicle. If you want something just to look at, buy art. The joy of driving is in better functioning of the vehicle.

In the early 70's, a lot of American car owners thought the BMW 2002 looked like Renaults, until they blew by them and disappeared. Took law enforcement about five years to catch-on, and by then, the 320i was out. Beauty is actually going quickly, but not looking like your are going fast.__________________Brian1995 Q45 & Q45t & 2000 Q45

i did the headlight conversion (s13 silvia) on my 240 and it was completely bolt on, the headlights even plug in with the stock harness. If the doner president and q45 car reciving the swap are both the G50 platform the whole front will bolt on, and at most there will be some minor wiring.

the headlights are not adjustable on the s13 silvia either but it hasnt stopped hundreds of people from doing the conversion.

as far as performance before looks, i have spent all my money for the last 18 months on performance parts for my s13, unfortunaly the trunk can hardly fit a oversized dufflebag and is uncomfortable for 2+ hour road trips and can only hold 2 people + a midget/my little brother.

I would be satisfied with just a JWT ECU upgrade, the q45 sounds plenty fast for me :pface

If you have JDM headlights on a US vehicle, the beam kick-up is on the left side and you are blinding oncoming traffic!

Lawyer for the driver that has a head-on with you will have a field day.__________________Brian1995 Q45 & Q45t & 2000 Q45

yeah i have know of the disadvantages of japanese only headlights for quite some time now. :)

The more and more i have been concidering the factors involved the less i want to do the headlight swap anyways, i hear early Q45's have excellent stock paint and it would be a shame to have to get another paintjob with a headlight conversion. Plus the stock Q45 is a sexy beast.

Uhm.... what's "beam kick-up?"

FYI, the pic above is from AUTO COUTURE website, body-kit maker in Japanhttp://www.evolution.co.jp/

Plus, if you search through the one of the post about Japanese Yahoo auction, you'll find a picture of converted pearl white Q45 to President.
