On my 94Q I occasionally notice less power at midrange rpms under heavy throttle. Everything was fine, until I ran out of gas one day (stupid mistake). After that I had rough idling,...the shop cleaned vaccum lines and adjusted the idle and everything seemed OK. Then some time later the car started stalling at idle. Took it into the shop and they found a bad injector (and cracked fan blade too). Replaced that and everthing was fine. Now I have the occasional lower power output when under heavy throttle. This engine really ran strong when I got it, so I'm starting to wonder if it is giving up. It only has a 107K on it.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Might do a search on fuel pump and fuel filters. Cleaning the vacuum lines is usually not required, but cleaning/replacing the fuel lines and the gas tank is when the fuel pump is replaced.

Running fuel level below ¼ tank is a definite no no if you value fuel pump and fuel pump controller longevity.

I had the 90K service performed at about 103K, and the filter was replaced then. This was done before I ran the tank dry. The shop said the pump was performing to spec output pressure when they tested it after I started having problems.

I'd get an injector flush and replace the filter again just to see... you may have gotten some garbage on the fine screens that protect the injector from any debris in the rail. The pressurized flush should take care of it. Just be sure to do a "drive the doors" off run for a few minutes when you get it back to make sure the garbage that you removed doesn't reattach itself to the piston crowns and valvetrain.
