-yes i searched-

I have a q45 maf just sitting around. It's been sitting in my room for over a year so I thought, why not put it to use? My throttle response has been bumpy/laggy because of exposed copper in my maf wires ( i think at least ), I taped them back up but it didn't help that much, it DID help a little. I need to get them resoldered and everything anyway. Will my motor run fine with the q45 maf? Only reason I'm asking this is because I already have it! I searched on here and I couldn't find anything about someone using it... mods are as listed

SAFC-2 s14 sr20detFMIC3 inch exhaust from the downpipe and back10 - 12 lb's of boost, depends on where I am and what I'm doing. stock exhaust manifoldSAFC-2

I picked up a couple things from my searches, such as setting my safc to 1 in and 6 out, and that it wouldn't idle right. I read some stuff about a "hot wire", what exactly is that? I read that it supplies the power and needs to be cooled down? How does it cool down?

"Hot wire" is a type of MAF meter. It reads the incoming air by measuring how much air flows over a 'hot wire'. The amount it cools puts out a resistance which the ecu then measures.

I am not a 240sx expert, but are you sure you can just plug in a different MAF from another car and expect it to work perfectly? I thought you had to reprogram the ecu to recognize the difference in the 0-5v scale for the new maf. I just know that is what you do on other cars.

Also, why do you have wires exposed? Sounds super ghetto.

i have an SAFC to change the scale that the ecu reads. the wires are exposed because i put them too close to the valve cover
