Hey all,

Does anyone know where I can get a left to right hand drive conversion done on a '94 Q45?

I may be moving to OZ in a year or so , and would like to take my car with me.

Thanks,

Mike

It'd be a lot easier to get a JDM Q there.

How much would it cost to ship it?

.......A LOT OF CAR HERE FOR THE MONEY , COST $140,000 NEW , YOU CAN BUY THIS PRIME EXAMPLE FOR LESS THAN 10 CENTS ON THE DOLLAR , AND THERES NOT ANYMORE OF THESE CARS ALLOWED TO BE IMPORTED THANKS TO GOVERNMENT REGULATORS .

Ebay Item number: 330047666714http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISA...fviZ1

On the other hand:http://www.autotrader.com.au/s...o.com

Shipping charge: my guess $2000, but what about tax, excise tax, duties and importation etc... whatever may be applicable.

Yep, yep.

Sell or store yours assuming you'll ever be back. Buy one when you get there.

The options to you over there are going to be ridiculous in comparison to here.

You should consider a Holden Commodore.

6.0L V8, 6-speed manual, RWD, and "car of the year"

Please, PLEASE dont even consider a "Commonwhore" as an option.

I payed $7000aud for my Q45a with 45000miles on the clock and i live in Sydney(most expensive city in Aus). Where in Australia are you moving to?

Maybe getting one there is the best idea. I looked around a bit but didn't see any for sale. Were they ever sold down under as new, or just special imports.

I'm probably moving to Adelaide. Melbourne may be an option, but I'll know more later this year.

I'm generally not a Commodore fan (like your nick-name though ;-).

I hate to leave my Q. It's in decent shape, and it gets harder to part with it, everytime I put another $1K of work into it (darn fuel injectors!).

Maybe I should just get smart and start parting it out, so I can recoup some of my investment.

Get a Commodore. Makes the Q look like a Solara.

Why convert? I've been to left-drive countries where US domestic vehicles were imported in and driven as is. I've driven both types on the left. Yeah it's better for passing but not absolutely a must, unless required by law.

Yes, they were sold new here, but Nissan Australia only brought in 100 units.

Coming to Adelaide eh? See you around then

How long are you moving here for? Is this a permanent thing? If it is, and you really want to hang onto your Q, we could always get a RHD one, and swap over all the necessary pieces onto your LHD one....

If you part it out, save all the little goodies and bring them to me

(Then buy yourself a skyline when you get here )

If you are coming to Adelaide, do you know what suburb you will be settling into?

Anything else you want to know?

My AIM is ozzie5163MSN is [email protected]

EDIT: It's possible to bring your car over and leave it LHD if your stay is TEMPORARY.If you are going to stay permanently, then you will have to convert it to RHD.Here's a link to the provisions of bringing your car here.http://www.aaa.asn.au/touring/bringing.htm

To answer your original query, here is a place that can convert your car to ADR standardshttp://www.american.com.au/pages/home.php
