Wassup guys, im gonna be a proud owner of a 1990 Q45 within 2 months. i haven't test driven it yet, but checked it out. it was nice. its has 124,000 miles on it. So anyways, i've heard Q45's were real fast cars and not to be messed with... so could you guys please list all the cars you've smoked and been smoked by, in your Q45's? just curious...thanks:ylsuper

welcome...if you really want to get your Q moving. I along with others are doing a rearend gear swap to a 4.08. This with a ECU/TCU chip from JWT will get you in the very low 14's on a 1/4 mile basis. Just read through the threads to find out what is available for mods if you have an extra $1,000 to spare.

Best part about a stock first gen Q, which you have... In fact you have one of the first 18 month build date ones, even better..

Anyway your Q is about a 15.0 second car stock..

However take it out against a low 14 second car (older cobras/e36 m3s/etc) Get on the freeway doing about 70.. slam it into 2nd, and watch how those low 14 second cars, can't move an inch on your big two ton 15 second car... it's trully a great feeling...

You're going to like it here, Mr. DSM.

When some of your friends tell you they think the front end is ugly, tell them "Don't worry, you're going to have plenty of time to admire the rear."

Don't think a Q45 will ever take out the old 64-67 Cobras. Maybe you meant those later Falcon based things?

I think he meant 90's Cobra's versus 04/04 Cobra's.

You could at least admire the 64-67 Cobra's from behind :D

Welcome!

Make darn sure about the chain guide issue being taken care of on the car! Do a search here (and look at the Infiniti Articles) on this topic.

Being strictly old school, for me all Cobras were made by Shelby and all GTOs were produced by Ferrari. The others are usurpers, legal or not.__________________Brian1995 Q45 & Q45t & 2000 Q45

thanks for the warm welcome! i do have a question though... when you downshift from D to 3 or 2, doesnt it hurt your transmission?and my other question is that when you floor a Q45, do you get sucked into the seat? i drove a 2002 deville with the northstar, and damn, i was pinned into the seat!! you see, ive been driving 4 yclinders all my life... so its a hell of
