Hi everyone. I need everyones help again. As i have said before I bought this car with a few problems. It had alot of electrical functions disconnected due to a police search. I have no power locks or power seat functions. I have changed circuit breaker and relays. Still nothing. I popped the trim from around the shifter where i could see switches and they are all plugged in but i found two white plugs that arent plugged into anything and there is nothing there for them to plug in to. Is there supposed to be some kind of relay box or junction bo? there. It just doesnt look right. Please any advice is appreciated!!!!!!!!

Sounds like the plugs for the heated seat switches. They should have a clear plastic/rubbery shroud around the connector to keep them clean for the day you swap in heated seats.

Mike he has a 1993 Q45 I think.

Why would you buy a car though that the police dept. raped?

Check the power window fuse in the engine bay fuse box (Its a brown 25 AMP fuse). If thats blow replace it and prey it never blows again.

Does the sun roof and power door locks work?

Mine is a 93 model. It realy wasnt raped it was just trim and electrical connectors disconnected. The car doesnt have but 97,000 miles on it so its worrth what i got in it. The power windows work with the switches on each door but not on the one console by shifter. My main concern is the power locks and power seats. The connectors you all described sounds like what i got. So i im back to the drawing board.

There are two circuit breakers one is for the power windows and sunroof. The other is for the power door locks, power seat and Automatic Driver Postioner (That controls the seat and steering wheel when you insert and remove the key from the ignition).

If no connections are cut then your in luck and have a regular Q, If not I pray for you that its a sub harness and not a main harness.

I bet i swapped the wrong circuit breaker. The sunroof works. Tee auto drive positioner isnt working and the p seats and locks arent. I bet that my problems is in circuit breaker

Well i have double checked circuit breakers and relays and i still have no power locks or power seats. What is up ??? There has to be a something that is causing both of these functions not to work. Is there a central distribution of these two functions? I am horrible with reading wiring diagrams.

Circuit breakers are not the best thing in the world but since we have them, we have to deal with them.

You mean three functions not to work. After my incident with a problem close to this I have the entire wiring diagram practically memorized in my head. Their are 5 systems (Power windows, sun roof, door locks, seats and Automatic Driver Postioner). Each go into two circuit breakers then on to a 25 AMP brown fuse in the engine bay fuse box. Then off to the fusible link holder (100 and 125 AMP fuse) then of course the battery. Excellent system Infiniti designed in my opinion but I have very limited experience and no degrees in this field.

So replace the circuit breaker for the power seats, door lock and Automatic Driver Positioner with a new one because you have nothing to loose but a small amount of money, OEM only.

I know how you feel about wiring diagrams because I used to find them challenging to read but now I love it. Like with everything it just takes time and determination and you will find the answer. Unless you introduce money then you can have someone else find the problem for you.

Also make sure the drivers side seat and power window switches are plugged in along with the center console window switches. Also if you feel up to it make sure the door lock timer under the center console is plugged in. Along with the Automatic Driver Postioner Control unit located above the drivers side foot well light. And make sure the power seats are plugged in but you will have to remove them to check.

Thanks again. I crossed the circuit breaker connector (1 above the brake pedal) with a cross wire. Nothing changed so im assuming this breaker is good. I did double check plugs. Everything looks and feels plugged in. Now the 25 amp fuse looks intact but im going to start there and see what happens. Ill be be back in touch thanks for the help. Oh also im not getting any illumination on the center console window switches when lights are on.

The center console window switches are a rare find if all light up but for some reason those seem to be some of the only lights that fail on a Q. You can replace the lights but they are somewhat of a pain to do.

Is there a way to find out what plugs the cops unplugged, hopefully they are thorough.

All I can say is read as much as you possibly can then read some more then rip out the interior and make sure everything is good. Thankfully if you have small gentle hands this will be okay for you. Or have some one more qualified than you look at it.
