HI all. Been reading these boards for a while but could find this with the search option. Anyways, are any interior parts between 89-96 q45s swappable? I've got a 94 Q and my tan interior is starting to look worn out and dingy. I can probably go to one of the listed websites here for oem replacement but I wanted to know about the swapping issue so I can do a salvage search first. Thanks,

JD

I understand the 90 model was very supportive, and I think the 91 - 93 was similar, but a little different, then in 1994, they changed to a softer design, more comfortable, but less supportive.

I have heard the earlier seats are better, over long trips.

I think 94 - 96 are all identical.

I almost bought a set of 2000 Anniversary edition black leather seats, to go in my 1994 model. I thought it would look cool, with the black dash and console, and grey door panels. They also were heated.

My I30t has heated seats, and I really like them.

I hope this helped.

That would have been interesting since the FY33 seat controls are on the seat and not remotely located like the G50. The seat heater controls are on the console for both. Of course, no power headrest in the FY33.

Check with an upholstery shop about redoing your leather, you might be surprised at how affordable it is and how nice a job they do.

I was planning to use the G50 bases and power, just mount the leather seat part from the FY33.

I have found the motorized headrests to be cute, but I leave mine all the way up, all the time.

I am planning to swap in some 90-93 seats (from Fred's old Q, if Repoman ever responds to my email)... Im gonna transplant the heaters into them while im at it...

I did some research, and the Y33 seats wont fit I dont think..... It would look nice..... If you do it Jeff, let me know....

I got a quote from katzkin leather (http://www.katzkin.com) for $900ish for all the seats, in aynthing i wanted.....

I thought katzkin hunting was outlawed. Maybe they are raising them in the far east, on katzkin farms.:D

In Paris they are doing topless protests against the use of katzkin.

Thanks for the info. Couple of things. I do need the leather replaced on my front seats but some of the more serious eyes sores in my car are the actual door panels, headliner, and steering wheel leather. I understand that there are places that will do leather seats but is redoing door panels and a steering wheel common also? If I purchased an oem headliner, how easy are they to install correctly for a novice?

Thanks,

JD

Hmm..... my headliner is perfect..

Door panels woudlnt be a problem, get them done in vinyl, should be really cheap...

Steering wheel leather, just do what I did and go get a cheapo cover.. They look really good.....

As it relates to my headliner, I think the previous owner was a chain smoker or something.

Ahh I see..

I might look into getting a used one... I bet the brand new OEM ones are really pricey...

There is a parts Q in the infiniti general section.

See other post here about a red 94 being parted out.

Also, check out wheelskins - nice for the steering wheel, looks factory.
