Has anyone that has replaced faulty injectors on an early model Q45 had any problems with the oem type since replacement?

Many people if not everyone with the know exception of Qship96 have replace injectors.

The only thing to do is maintain the entire fuel system from new (Before E10 or MBTE) was introduced to the car fuel system to prevent the loss of injectors over time.

But if you look at the first page of this you will see that "1990Q45" has a topic on new injectors that work with E10 and E85 (Even though E85 wont work with the rest of the fuel system). but the cost of all 8 injectors and the rails and harness and O-rings is roughly $1000 and plus $1000 for the under plenum hoses and knock sensors and harness and more, And the labor is about $1000 unless you do it your self. So that would being the total to roughly $3000.

But for $3000 you would never have to touch the plenum again for another 10 years or 6+ years of you want to live on the safe side and replace the hoses before they crack.

The screwing E10 has made these car's millionaires car unless you have a couple of spare Q45's like Q45tech does, I know I have a spare Q45 for extra parts if needed, But I don't have the body or harness or seats, just what ever I could grab which was nearly everything else.

Good luck.

thanks for up front reality check reply. if the body and interior were nice enough I could do the 3000 and be happy. where are you going to get as nice a car as this for 3000? guess I will continue to buck my way along with my 6 cylinders. runs pretty smooth at 3200rpm and up. doesnt like to go up hills though!!Fred

Well have you tested the injectors?

Read the entire page: [URL][http://q45.org/techhelp.html/URL]

If the bad injectors are either #1, #2, or #8 then you are in luck because you can replace those with out removing the plenum.

Are the injectors are completely dead (Running really really rough) or just clogged or bad when cold or warmed up?

Please give us all the info you can on your car, get the Infiniti Service history and all the receipts you can please.

An extra $2,000 for injectors is peanuts something like a 10-12% increase in the total cost of NEW parts that go wrong in driving 300,000 miles.
