I saw a video on http://videos.streetfire.netThis kid have a vid of him reving up his Q Hella hard.In the caption it said that he put new injectors, HEADERS, And a Cool Air Intake. And because of that, he was getting 450hp. first of all. i don't see that much HP possibility out of just that little modification. and second, Where did he find headers? Anybody else seen this? The specific link is http://videos.streetfire.net/profile/Calikid.htmWhat do you think?

Remember exhaust is forced out of cylinder by the expansion of super heated burned mixture into the lower pressured exhaust manifold space. Whatever doesn't get out restricts the refilling of cylinder.

Pretty easy to measure the volumetric efficiency or how much air flows into cylinder.

From peak torque rpm to redline the VE drops 20% from the combination of intake and exhaust restrictions. Usually they are about equally distributed so from best to worst exhaust might be 10%.............unfortunately you cannot get to zero and a 50% improvement might improve redline power by 5% or 16 lb/ft. or 20 HP at 6900 rpm.

Since restrictions are lower at 6,000 rpm unlikely that peak power would increase half the above amount ~~ 10-12 HP.

All about meeting emissions and NOISE ordinances.

Member rsiwicki had headers specially made (one-of-a-kind, only ones like them) for his car, which I now own. They have no precats, and the car has trouble with emissions testing (it will pass, though). They also sound fantastic in conjunction with the rest of the exhaust this car has (click the link in my signature). Certainly better than the car in the streetfire video IMO.There are pictures of them out of the car floating around (they were posted in a headers thread recently, even, so a search for headers should turn them up easily). There's not much to see with them on the car. If I ever get a chance while it's up on a lift, I'll try and get some from beneath, but shops around here are pretty panicky about customers being on the work floor...plus I don't have a digicam.

Another option that was discussed early on was JDM headers, which I believe also lack pre-cats.

A simple search for "headers" should turn up a LOT of results.

Sounds like it time to drop a hint to the wife, GF, parents for a digital camera for Christmas. For about $80 you can have a 8-10 megapixel pocket camera and you'll be in picture poster's paradise.

Are you implying that an Evo is NOT capable of drifting and doing donuts because it's front wheel drive? If you are, then you're the idiot. An Evo is AWD, and it is possible to lock up the center diff to send all of the HP to the rear wheels ONLY, essentially making it RWD. Rhys Millen did it for all the stunt EVOs in Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.

Yea in a MOVIE, Wow your so right.

essentially making them RWD not completely, talk to me when they have VSLD.

Evo's are cheaply made and made to go fast, So unless they make a Q competitor STFU.

I am looking to buy a set of Q45 Headers. Stainless or mild steel, for use on a VH45DE engine in a 300ZX Z31 body, currently a 5 speed which should fit. ZMECH on HydridZ.org has custom fabricated his own. I m looking to buy headers and will consider your sources. Regards, Pdfflyer001
