Ok my 94q kinda back on road.Failed DMV twice, they say that they cant get a reading from gas tank, pressure or something.I dont smell gas in car,but is noticeable on outside.Looked under car no drips, nor under hood.Pulled pump resealed top real good new ring n screws which took care of smell in car.Driving can only smell if sunroof or window is cracked.$60 fill up n trunk area is bone dry.Smell is really strong standing on the side of car,but I dont see anything.Have noticed no pressure release from gas cap, even after replacing it.Car was smoked, but found nothing.

Try tightening the hose clamps for the fuel filter. The fuel filter is in the engine bay next to the oil filler cap. If it's been a while since you replaced the fuel filter (2+ years), I'd replace it too.

I would also check the carbon canister and lines going to and from it.

Replaced fuel filter twice.Cant smell anything under hood, even operating throttle engine area doesnt give off smell.Only standing near a door can you smell it.Put a couple hundred gentle miles on her, dont really notice a huge gas drop.If the charcoal canister or line needed tightening, would that effect pressure to the tank?I seen the man at dmv hook something inline with the canister, just dont know what he did.If there is a leak in the vapor line somewhere how do you check that?

I've seen a few Nissan vehicles with rotted fuel filler tubes. Right where the support brackets are welded to the metal filler tube, dirt and moisture accumulates, rusts and eventually rots through the tube. It's not an easy leak to find since it starts off as a slight seeping leak. Try filling up the tank, park heads up on an incline, and check to see if the filler tube is leaking or the smell of gas gets stronger while parked like that. It only takes a tiny leak to produce a strong gas smell and a hole in the filler tube will also release all the pressure in your tank.

Thanks will do!!!!Sprayed soapy water over everything no bubbles, kinda leaning to malfunctioning pump(3)months old not creating enough pressure.Yesterday finally heard the woosh sound opening gas cap.

If you cant smell the fuel at the engine bay, like you said, then it isnt a leaking fuel line under the plenum.

I am pretty certain all of your issues are at your gas tank. Take the liner off and expose the gas tank. Take the gas cap off of the filler neck to relieve pressure. Now, take the VENT LINE off of the tank. It is the single smaller line off to the right, all by itself.

Check for the o-ring. Make sure the o-ring is on the line, under the compression nut. If you have the o-ring, take the metal gate off from in front of the gas tank. Theres a rubber grommet right in front of the tank where the 3 fuel lines run under the car....take that off and look through there....the hard lines have rubber joints that join them to other metal lines. Check the rubber pieces for cracks or leaks. You may have to crawl under the car and look at the lines.
