OK i have looked and i found a few threads but none seem to say for sure if it works, what works or how it looks, rides, etc...... I have a 1993 Q i am putting back together. i want to drop it just a little bit. Not 3 inches i have several 240sx's for that. Just a bit. Who has done this or knows what works

thanks dan

the z32/r32gtr setup is not what you are looking for. it is a "cheap" (relative to the ~$2k it costs for g50 coilovers) alternative for those who want to go low.

Most people wont like coilovers.. A nice set of 300ZX coilovers will still set you back about 1200-1500, and the rears require custom mounts.

Your best bet is finding someone with a used set of Q45 lowering springs.

i was not suggesting coilovers. agreed that springs are the way to go in this scenario, as i told the op a while ago.

Z32 suspension swap will have you sitting 4inch-3.5inch off the ground. You best is springs or coilovers.

so looking into the posts from the past. i see where people tried to fit z32 shocks and springs but the top spring hat or mount was wrong. so after looking at the side by side photos, has anyone tried using z32 struts with q45 springs with the q top perch modified to fit the z32 strut rod. this would possibly give you the lowering but complete travel but possibly not the extreme drop......

Nope the Q45 springs are too big.All you really do it swap top hats in the rear and grind down the holes closer in the front towers to fit the Z32 suspension.I'm telling you the rear wont drop at all with Z32 OEM rear suspension. Here's a pic before I got my rims and tires this how low I was sitting.Might want to rethink the swap if your not trying to go too low.

this i exactly how it sat with KYB Z32 struts and OEM springs.

Good luck.

Important to understand that the main purpose of suspension is to KEEP the tire camber as close to zero during all driving conditions.Accelerating, braking, and turning.

Why we speak of static alignments and camber, caster, and toe curves that differ as the body moves and rolls differently during different actions.

When these static and moving curves are wrong the assymetrical tire wear shows the errors.

Neither is suspension travel a bad thing on real world roads.

None of us drive on billiard tables nor even perfectly groomed race tracks.

Don't confuse driver or passenger comfort requirements with the MACHINES REQUIREMENTS.

Kind of like people who believe they are allowed to kill and eat animals. But animals are not allowed to kill and eat them!
