Hi,We have a 1990 Q parts car. I like to keep everything moving under its' own power as much as possible, fuel pump just conked out.

Getting power thru the relay. Ohmed the pump per the FSM shows 1 ohm, not .5 as speced. Is the pump toast? Would it be worth trying to bypass the fpcu to see if it may work? This is only a parts car.

TIA

You could bypass the FPCU to see if the pump works but chances are that it is also on its way out.

Usually a failing pump is what kills the FPCU. The pump might work but it would probably be very noisey which is an indication of its death agony.

Thanks, it's only a parts car, if it will move a few more times I'm happy.

I have read 5 thousand references in the archives to attaching a jumper to ground the fpcu, but no specific instructions.

Can someone tell me how to do this?

It's in a Q45tech post, among others. Look at your FSM. You are just jumping to ground.

Here's the thread detailing how to jump the FPCU:

Appreciate the replies.

Thanks especially 96Q Owner. Tangalora explained it graphically and simply, so your link was a huge help.

Now my parts car can at least move from here to there when needed.
