Q45 fuel problems
Q45 fuel problems
My Q45 shuts down but can be restarted when driving.I was told if I hear a loud noise from the fuel pump,this is the problem and I should fix before FECU shorts or overheats.IS THIS TRUE!

My Q45 has 205,000 origanal miles and same fuel pump.I've replaced the ECU at 125,000. Yes I do hear a humming noise.

Change the fuel pump and DO NOT BUY A USED PUMP! Make sure you replace the bad pump with a new one.

Be sure to look at your tank as it probably has some debris (maybe microfine) floating around. If it does, be prepared to remove it for a steam cleaning.
Don't for get the O ring and to at least blow your fuel lines out, and replace the filter.

You definitely want to buy a new pump!
the I ring is designed to expand over a certain period of time. be sure to replace that, I didnt listen and I had gas smell!
