Hey everyone, long time lurker, first time poster here.
I've gone to wits end trying to replace a fuel pump, fuel relay, all other accessories related to the fuel system in order to get my 1991 Q45 to start after intermittent start problems related to a faulty fuel pump. It turns out the previous owner of my Q45 did a horrible wiring job with nearly everything he touched on the car, and ended up causing the Fuel Pump Control Unit/Module to catch fire and burn through the PCB board, making it essentially useless.
I have no idea what to do at this point, and no junkyards within a 2-state radius of Oregon have a q45 or the part I require. I can't find the control unit on eBay, and the dealer up here in Eugene, OR can't acquire one for me, and if they could it would be $800+. I can't afford that with paying rent and taking care of my family. I figure that even if I end up somehow acquiring one the previous wiring job of the old owner would render it completely useless and fry it once again.
Does anybody happen to have pictures of the wiring harnesses so I can figure out exactly what the previous owner did in splitting almost every single cable and wrapping them in electrical tape?
I'm about ready to start parting the car out, but was wondering if anybody possibly had a spare fuel pump control unit or had access to one that they could sell?
