Thanks in advance for all replies.

I've got my fuel injectors out in my Q45. Each has a plastic tip cover with a small hole where the fuel squirts out from the metal barrell beneath. One injector had a cracked plastic cover which then came off entirely. Can any body tell me what the plastic cover is for and if I have to get a new injector?

The plastic cover has to be there to properly atomize the fuel. They can be installed aftermarket with any reputable injector rebuilbing place. If you want to send one to the LA area, call 562-693-8236 and ask for Gene.

THe plastic 'tip' actually divides the fuel stream in tow--so it distributes evenly to each intake valve. Gotta have it.

It's called a pintle cap (for ordering purposes). Replace them all, they get brittle. Same w/O-rings.

Are they available from Joe? Never checked in the past, but that would be a good thing to know...

Everything Nissan/Infiniti has something called "injector insulators" not sure if that's it. Don't see o-rings (as described). As I look it over, it looks like they need to tighten up their terminology, or add some pictures of each part.
