Hi everyone,

I always wanted to do a brake upgrade for my s13, and have been gathering required parts for the job...so at this point I have:

1. new q45 front calipers
2. new z32 rear calipers
3. 15/16 z31 BMC.
4. new q45 front rotors
5. new z32 rear rotors

the question is - will this setup work?

so any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

- Tim

Hells yeah. The only thing I can think of is are you five lug or did you drill them to 4 lug? You have the conversion lines for the rear and how about the ebrake shoes and cables (or go hydro)?

the brake bias would be good?

oh, sorry, decided to leave that info out of the message, so not to confuse anyone :)

I have a 200sx s13 - European version of the s13 hatch, and I have drum e-brakes, exactly same as z32 e-brakes. so no hydro for me (although I have 240sx front & rear calipers laying somewhere as well).

rotors are re-drilled to 4 lug pattern.

rear lines for z32 calipers are agency power conversion lines.

fronts are stock oem replacement.

Sounds like you are ready to go. I think the proportion will be perfect .. I've seen z32 front calipers used on all four with a manual adjusting proportion valve.

what concerns me is that I have never seen such setup.

usually people either go z32 all round, or front q45 stock rears.

and keeping in mind this is not a drift car but a dd, I'd prefer the front to lock up before the rear.

are you positive on this being a good setup?

my other option was to leave stock 200sx rear 1 piston calipers (resurface rotors, rebuild calipers, powdercoat, new hardware, etc) but it just seems to be expensive.

All though the z32 rears are dual piston. The pad surface is small. Im 100 percent sure your rears will not lock up before the fronts.

I rock front q45 and stock rears and have no complians..fade is minimum and stoping distance is excellent..and have not have any problems locking them...

that's provided you have stock rear 240sx calipers. not z32 rears.
thanks for the input though.

I see no issue other then needing a bias adjuster.

Wilwood brake bias adjuster will do?

I was hoping that the aforementioned z31 BMC would help me pertain a good bias, smthng like 68/32
