I just need a striaght ansewer about this subject. I'm tired of driving a peg-leg unicycle Z32. I want to swap in a rear end with LSD or even Visicous LSD in most cases. So the TT is out of the question and I've been hearing alot about the Q45 differential swap. So I just need to know the pros and cons of this. I know it changes the gear ratio, but is it enough to notice a difference in shift points, 1/4 mile times, gas mileage.
What all do I need to do this? Simply go to a J/Y and pull one and just bolt it in?
I need some help in this subject please, and I've searched all around and have not received one common ansewer.

Thanks for any info

Search R200 on here, and in the Q forum.

Factory NA is 4.09:1 final drive.
Factory Q45 is 3.54:1 final drive (don't quote me on that, it's going from memory)

So your gas mileage would improve, your acceleration would suffer some and you would definitely notice a difference in cruising speed engine speed.

so is the last part good or bad?
is the difference in acceleration negligible enough to be compensated for from a pop charger or another "NA bolt on power adder"

Whn going from a 4.09 to a 3.54 you will not only feel the difference in acceleration you will cry ever time you try to race from a dig if you are NA. 3.54 is more for high speed and highway cruising 4.09 is tire killing low end power.

So it sounds like its not worth it unless you go turbo first.

Its more a question of what you want out of your car. If you want good gas mileage, low cruising RPM, and an easy DD then a NA Z32 with the Q45 diff would be a good choice, If you want to retain some sportiness on a NA then stick with the stock 4.09. With the TT if you want higher top speed go for the 3.54 if you want to destroy tires (like me) go for the 4.09. Ive got a TT swapped NA that has the stock NA 4.09 and I cant complain, it spools fast, gets off the line very fast and the cruising RPM are not that bad although I'm sure i'd run out of gear if I ran the mile.
