Hi everyone

I got a Q45 diff for my 240sx and the output shafts will not rotate.is it broken or is this normal if it has been sitting for awhile?

Are you trying to torque the input spindle?

Yeah, they should all spin easy. I just spin the the main one to see if the spindles work fine. If it doesn't spin at all, I dunno, could be caked.

I am assuming you mean caked as in got stuf caked on itand needs to be cleaned. I am going to open it this weekend. And try a whole lot of wd40 may be some gas to clean it.unless that is a bad idea.

Well, I just meant caked as in broken. Even if there was no fluid in it it should still turn some. If none of the spindles turn at all I dunno what to do. Yeah, might as well open it up and see what's inside.

I am a retard. I set it on the ground so the pinion was up and tried to trun it. It spun, apparently the outputflanges are hard to turn.Changed the diff cover, put in new gasket and sealed with silicone.Got the back four bolts in and the front is being held up by a jack while I find the bolts for the front.

Changing all the bushings in suspension. that is a hassle.got the master kit from energy suspension.

found the dam bolts finallythey are 12m with a 1.25 thread 3.5 inch bolts, 3 inch would also work I just wanted as much thread as I could get. the bolts I found are class 8.8not grade 8. They said they are pretty strong. I will change them if I find grade 8 bolts that work.

the Q45 diff has spacers/bushings where it mounts the fronttwo bolts. I only had one rubber bushing per side so I bought metal bushings with the same I.D. and put one of those of those on first then the rubber bushing on top to go against the subframe. On the bottom I used two of those same bushings and then smaller onesthen the bolt.

I think the tool to remove the plug is a 1/2" drive and a breaker bar or large torque wrench.I am trying tomorrow.
