OK everyone i know this has been discussed over and over but i've searched and searched and not found a straight up answer to my question. i also know this diff. its not everyone's choice but it is mine so please be constructive and don't flame or look only at its defects. now my question:

This diff. being an R200V (according to my knowledge, could be wrong) should physically be the same internally as my open diff. right?, i don't know if that even makes sense but i know that i has a limited slip unit obviously, so could i swap that unit into my open diff.???

i have the knowledge, and the skills to take on such a project, and also the time and patience, so please NICO shine on me again with your infinitive knowledge.

thanks in advance, and i know its been done with a j30 unit but that is not reachable at the time.

thanks again!!!!

Not entirely sure, but I have a welded open end R200 in an R200V casing. It makes sense it could work the other way, but I haven't done it.

The Q45 and J30 diffs are the same housing and VLSD unit, but the ring and pinions are different, as well as output shafts.

But we have a section that covers this and I am moving from 240 gen to there.

well thank you so much for putting it in the right place! so if they are the same unit it should work because in one of the tech article the author from ka24development says he's done it 2 times with the j30, here almost at he very end:http://www.ka24development.com/vlsd.html
