So im wondering why the z32 tt driver side has to be used for the passenger side? Wouldn't two driver side q45 axles work? How long is the q45 driver side compared to the 240sx passenger side? Help! I cant find a tt axle anywhere and have been looking for months now.

I'm looking into your question also...trying to find the stock specs for the q45 axle lengths.

On a side note, do you know if the ring and pinion can be swapped from my stock 240sx differential to the Q45 diff for better gearing?

Yes the ring and pinion will work. Great news! I got a tt axle! Should be here wednesday. The guy that sold it to me has another tt axle! Go to the classifieds and I posted it with his number. Also here in an hour im finally trading some stuff for the q45 driver side axle and rear end. It took me 3 months to find that damne axle for sale. So what specs do you need from the axles? Ill have them in a few minutes.

So I was looking at the tt axle, and if q45 axle is as any longer than the tt than it probably wont fit on the driver side. Im not sure how much longer it is than the tt till I get the diff and q45 axle but ive already got my axle and tt hubs, and waiting on a trade for the rest. Also as far as ring and pinion go, there is a delema. If your trying to use the 240sx ring and pinion you have to have one of the output shafts machined...also, the other problem ive come across is that I want to put the j30 ring and pinion (which I already have) but the bolts are 12mm that go into the ring and the bolt holes for the q45 vlsd are 13mm. The 1mm gap between the boltand bolt hole, is that gonna be a problem?

I just ordered that other axle, thanks bud. Funny coincidence he lives in sac and im flying there in a couple weeks.

The 1mm gap MIGHT be a problem but shouldnt if you tighten it down right, I don't think it would shimmy around.

And as far as 240sx ring n pinion what kinda machining needs to be done? I won't be needing it anyhow, I'm ditching the sr20det I was building and I'm selling the 350z transmission and I'm going 2jz-gte with a getrag 6 speed. Ohhh yaaa

One of the output shafts has to be shortened...however im not sure if the guy used the 240 housing or the vlsd housing. Is the 3.54 gears gonna be good with that 6 speed? I was thinking if I give it a couple extra ft lbs id be fine. We'll see. Im gonna call some diff shops and see if there is a solution. Yeah that was that guys last one...he had had it shipped to my door in 2 days! But I live in nevada so not to far.

so i measured my axles last night and took a quick picture looks like the drivers side 300zx axle is 24.5 inchs long and the Q45 Drivers side axle is 25.5 inchs long that is assuming that i didn't get screwed over and shipped the wrong axle :) haha

I'm sure the getrag 6 speed will be fine with the q45 rear end. The stock TT supra rear ends are like 3.2x
