I'm looking into getting another lsd put in, but I'm having a hard time sourcing some j30s in my area. I know that the q45s will work as long as I have the same output flanges (3x2), but I'm curious to see if the gearing of the diffs are the same as the j30s. I've had a j30 installed in my wife's and my previous 240s, didn't really mind the difference in gearing. Just thought I'd ask and see if anyone has the answer.

PS - I did search!

The J30 VLSDs are a 3.916 ratio while the Q45 VLSDs are either a 3.54 or a 3.69 ratio. The Q45 will need different axles because most of them use a '5 star' flange, where the 240sx uses a '3 sets of 2' flange. Axles are expensive!
