So I finally got my q back up and running with a new fuel pump, a new fuel filter, a brand new maf, and new knock sensors it was running fine 115 miles, and then when I was driving it tonight it just died it didn't sputter when it died, it wouldn't turn back on and it sounded like I did with the bad fuel pump but I can hear the fuel pump priming and running, I jumped the fuel pump controller to see if that was the issue and that didn't help anything. It will occasionally start up and putter, but won't stay running. What should be then next thing I check?

measured fuel pressure between filter and injector rails. you may have had so much gunk that the pump and/or filter are clogged again, data, data, data.
you plunked down $500+ for a NEW maf? impressive.

What should the pressure be at? I checked codes on ecu as well and it flashed code 55.... All good. When I did my knock sensors, I also cleaned the plenum and throttle body, cleaned Iacv, new gaskets for everything and put dielectric grease in all connections. I only spent 300$ on the maf, found a genuine Nissan maf on eBay.

good score on the maf!
38 psi at idle. increase to ~50 when you blip the throttle.

OK so finally got a chance to go out and do a little more diagnostic work, I pulled the fuel hose off the filter, and turned the key, and no fuel came out, so later today when I get more time I plan on pulling out my fuel pump to double check everything there. If I put my ear to the tank I can hear the pump prime when switched tonon, and i can hear it running during cranking.

turns out the strainer came off the new pump and the pump somehow managed to suck something up it and it ruined the pump, replaced it an all is well, now i just have to replace two wheel studs and she will be back on the road.

Always replace the fuel filter also unless you know it to be new.

@maxnix, it is brand new, I didn't know how much the stock filter had on it so I replaced it when I replaced the fuel pump

Smart move! :bigthumb:

I like to replace them annually or every 15K - 20K miles. My new car has them attached to the LPFP,which is all one unit. So many nice things about a VH45DE.
