Hi everyone!

i try the search option for an answer but couldn't find any, so here is my question.

on an 98 q45, does the condenser fans suppose to work as soon as you turn on the AC? i just found out that the fans is not working today when i turned the AC on.
is that normal and the fans only turn on at a certain pressure or temperature? Thanks in advance.

Normally a technican, even a mechanic, reads the massive Factory Service Manual to understand how all system work in DETAIL.
Failure to secure the MANUAL [*.pdf download] leaves you in dark ages.

Important for posters to do their part as we tend to concentrate on complex things not delineated clearly in manual.

Here's a copy of the service manual. I know there's a minute or two delay in the winter for the fan to come on when asking for heat but I don't recall a fan delay when the AC is turned on, especially if it's set at 65 degrees. Is the fan not coming on at all, ever? Or only running on one speed? Is the controller display coming on? Tell us more about the symptoms.

Don't mind Q45T*ch. He gets his greatest pleasure out of bashing newbies for not being self-taught automotive technicians between the time they discover NICO and before making their first post. There's plenty of other owners here to give helpful information so keep asking questions.

Mike, I think original poster is referring to the condenser fan under hood- your above info is correct for the Blower fan

Fuses blow, electric [fan] motors, and relays wear out. These things are typically controlled by ecus in post 1993 models.

I cut owners under 25 some slack, but cars are cars in that most systems work the same way regardless of brand. Failure to educate oneself on mechanical or electrical things is a great sin and many dieities will punish you in later life when your income is lower and you are at the mercy of contract labor.
