Here's the update on my bucking/jerking Q. I took it to Infiniti and they couldn't reproduce the problem (OF COURSE). They did say that they did some "modifications" to the MAF sensor connector. "Modified the pins in the connector," said the service rep. Anyway, they say this is the first thing to try. If the problem persists, they say replace the MAF and its connector. Anyone ever heard of this "modified the pins" business? I asked if it was a recall and they said No. Oh well, here's hoping it works. Thanks to all who responded to these posts.

I'm the guy with the replaced engine. It has 65k miles. The chassis has 145k miles. Now the problem seems to only occur after it has been driven and allowed to sit for awhile. Then it starts out and bucks within a few minutes. It will go away within 5 minutes or so. Still, it runs like a dream when it isn't complaining.
