Thank goodness T3 is still below 1 mistake in 10 tries or we would have to raise the $1200 guide replacement price! $500 to look and see whats what, another $700 if guides need replacing and another $500 if broken guide pieces must be removed from oil pan [removal].

Somewhere between $500-$1700 plus misc hoses, belts, or thermostat if bad at the same time.

Just part of the prorated $3,000 annual main & repair cost of thes older Q.

A car the separates the men [women] from the boys [girls]............not for the faint of heart. " Own one and you'll understand" was a old slogan.

In an engin were berring grades are .0001 different what is the bearing clearances like? if its like .001-.003 clearance would it even matter if u you used the wrong bearing? assuming you were not to close to either to loose or to tight? a tenth of a thousanth like you said is hardly measurable with out some real presition tools.

Standard tolerances are pretty tight. .0005-.0012. Limit of .002 clearance. Keep in mind this is diametrical clearance...but the grades apply to the difference in radius. That is, there are 2 journals on each bearing, so each successive grade decreases clearance by .0002. Only takes 4 grades to blow through the standard clearance range.
