so i recently up graded to the q45 brakes off a 91. got it all hoked up saterday bleed the brakes about 5-6 times on both sides and they just dont work at all. i got to push the brake 2-3 times to get some stopping power. so i checked on hear and found someone talking about changing the BMC, so thats what i did. i got a BMC off of a 89 300zx. it was the 1". it didnt have the middle hole blocked for the abs so i hooked it all up bleed the brakes again and still no good. i mean it has improved a little. but not good enough.the brakes are still spongy. they go all the way to the floor the 1st push but now the second stops good. if i bleed the back brakes will that help or do i just need to keep bleeding the front. or did i just get the wrong BMC cause the hookup for the electrical is on the other side. and imput will help. thanks

You should bleed all 4. Starting from driver's side rear...

Did you install the calipers on the wrong side? Is the bleeder on the top or bottom of the caliper? because I ran Q45s with a stock master cylinder and I didn't have a mushy feel.

bleeder is on the top. i had the 7/8 BMC and it felt worse with that one. i still need to bleed the back brakes. i think it just has air in it.

Did you bleed the lines correctly and in the right order? Because like I said, on my hatch, I did Q45 fronts and Z32 rears and had no mush at all.

thanks for all the help people. but i did the hole system again starting from back right. and the same thing. but now i got a leak from where the BMC meets the brake booster. nuts not tight enought? i even went back to the stock 7/8 BMC thinking it was the 1" BMC making it leak.maybe if i get a brake booster with the BMC attached it will work. anyone in the northern part of cali want to help. ill pay. i just give up. itsbeen a week thing just for some brakes. thanks ...STRICK-

hey you're damn near my next door neighbor. i live in suisun, haha.

anyway, when you put the BMC on, did you make sure to put the check valve in the blocked line? when you get ABS version (two holes intead of one) BMCs, you need to put the check valve inside the third hole for it to meter correctly.

make sure your BMC isnt bad either. bleed in this order: RR, LR, FR, FL. pump 10 times in a slow yet steady motion. hold it on the 10th pump and have a friend open the bleeders one at a time.

you didnt get your parts at pick and pull did you?
