Ok so I just finished my Q45 swap this evening. Bled with a motive power bleeder. Flushed a bottle and a half through the system, about 24oz. Pedal feel is kind of soft, is that normal?

It takes about 30-40% pedal travel before the brakes start engaging-
By 40-50% the car is slowing down good-
Anything higher and the brakes can be locked up without much effort.
The brakes are definitely much much stronger, I just don't know if the pedal should have so much travel before engaging.

Setup-
Reman front Q45 calipers
New pads front and rear
New rotors front and rear
All stainless brake lines
Stock BMC
Cantano 5 lug swap incase anyone wonders.
Bled with motive power bleeder.

I may keep bleeding the brakes- I replaced the lines as soon as I removed them, but the car sat for a few days before I bled them. I suppose air could have made its way up in a hard spot?

It's going to feel softer because now you have larger brakes, and they're taking up more fluid to move.
It shouldn't feel that weird though. Kinda felt like a pedal on a normal passenger car.

Yes, I knew it would have a different feel because of the larger calipers, I just didn't know exactly what to expect. I'll drive it some and report back if I end up bleeding them again. Thanks!

Yeah, the peddle will feel a little softer. But that's not a bad thing really...

I always liked my Q brakes though, I had pretty much the same setup as you; plug-and-play. Definitely an upgrade though.

10-4. Just read up some on the z31/Altima rear brake setup, this may help my easy lock up of the front tires, but what I don't get is- how does a larger rotor alone help brake bias??

More leverage.
However, it won't fix it completely. Even after running that setup, the brakes didn't feel as solid as I wanted it to.
Z32 brake swap was really worth it.

It's more about the bias than anything, and the proper master cylinder fixes that problem...

For the record, I've had both Z32 (full setup) and Q45 (fronts) and both had the stock master cylinder. Honestly, the Zs felt a little better but the Q setup is a better bang for your buck. In the end, you're gonna lock up the wheels regardless when you stomp on the pedal..

But how? I don't see how a larger rotor allows for anything other than reduced brake fade, all other things being the same...

As for locking up, it's nature of the beast and I get that. It'll be a learning curve but shouldn't be an issue

Imagine a standard size socket wrench and then imagine a breaker bar... The amount of applicable torque (with the same amount of pressure) from a breaker bar is much more than a standard socket wrench due to the additional handle length (additional diameter).

As for the Z31/Altima Rotor setup, your supposed to use a Z32 fronts AND Z31 BMC for proper bias.

LoserCard,
I'd be interested in your modded rotors, any expected release date? Your website says April?

Btw I finally wrapped my head around the calipers being mounted further away from the hub equalling more leverage aka stoping power.
