For the people who have done the conversion, how do you like it and was it worth it? And dose anyone have any comperison between the stoping distance with stock vs Q45 on a s13?

i have j30 conversion but they are basically the same as q45. Big difference, the are more responsive than the one piston caliper. I recommend you do the conversion. there is alot less brake fade with the dual piston caliper when it comes to track day.

would u say it has a more sudden stop, reason i ask is I hate my stoping distance, i feel like no matter how much brake i give it dosn't want to stop, everything with the system is fine, i just want faster stoping power.

im running the q45/j30 setup as well with a z32 master cylinder. the pedal feel is a little more direct and the stopping power is excellent. you have to remember that the q45 setup stops the q45 under 120ft at 60-0, and thats a 3600+ lbs car. imagine the time on a car that is around 2600+.

plus you dont have to get conversion lines, and dont have to worry about z32 brakes locking up under heavy braking with the s13 master cylinder. even with the stock s13 master, the q45 pedal feel is still excellent.

He speaks the truth. And i have had no problems with them locking up either, even with a couple panic stops, just good very responsive breaking.

Did you guys use just the front calipers or the rears too? Also you need the rotors drilled 4 lug and you need the bolts too right?

i am only using the fronts. i redrilled them to 4 lug, and later on converted to 5 lug. redrilling is super easy. all the hardware that mounts the calipers to the knuckle are required.

as far as the rear brakes, ive seen a few people run them but it requires a ton of work. the writeup is here if you are interested.

How did you do this? Everyone is telling me to use a drill press (which I don't have). All of the machine shops around here want $80 to drill 6 freaking holes.

redrilling is simple. a drill press makes the process faster and easier, but your standard handheld drill will do the same.

I have a 950S14 with a 5 lug hub in the front and rear as well.. I wantto upgrade and get the q45 brake calipers, and pads. Should i upgrade and get the rotors as well? (obviously, i thought about taking off the rotor and ocmparing them to a q45, but haven't gotten around to it yet) BTW, i know it doesn't really make a difference, but i have z32 wheels all around

You have to use Q45 rotors with Q45 calipers and pads. The S14 rotors are smaller in diameter so the Q45 calipers wouldnt be able to 'grab' the S14 rotors.
