Hey people! Back from hiatus again. Wondered how you felt about news from Auto Spies (if you haven't heard) about those two cars being scrapped and completely new cars in their place. The styling will be more cutting edge like the G35 or FX according to the designers at La Jolla. Here is the site. Look down the left hand side of the page to find the story. http://www.imakenews.com/autospies/

These guys kinda get on my nerves. They seem to constantly promote Nissan's California designers over the Japanese team, going so far as to recently imply that the only Infinitis that sell well are the ones designed in La Jolla (specifically mentioning the G). If I'm not mistaken, the ONLY Infiniti to come out of La Jolla is the Triant concept, correct?

Well supposedly all the hottest designs of late have come from the La Jolla team. I know they better be the truth because the Lexus LS is going to METAMORPHIC changes next year or two. LS 500/600 V12 with a 600 coupe as well. The new G35 has a new all wheel drive system but Infiniti needs to pull ALL the tricks out of this one.

On close reading of the article we see that neither are to be discontiued.

Only improved versions coming out for 2005 ( the earliest).

ditto what Fred said.

Who wouldn't be excited about a re-designed M or Q? :D

Maybe a restoration of the G50? I wish.

Greg ,You have seen the new M ? You know I am on the verge of getting one now . You think I should keep driving my trusted 91Q and wait another year for the new one ?My personal opinion , or impression of the 'new generation' Infinitis (FX , G ) is that they are not made as well as the old designs (Q , M , I , G20 , J , QX)meaning - reduced costs to increase bottom line for the French. I never heard of anybody complaining about rattles in an Infiniti , untill these new ones came last year . Heck , my 91Q is still rattle-free . What I am saying is , the next Q, M will go the same road as the FX , G , giving you a bang for the buck upfront in the showroom , but maybe not after warranty is gone ( just like MB lately). So , in that respect the 03-04 Q,M, maybe remembered as the last of the 'real' Infinitis.

Keep this in mind: You can buy a LOADED M45 for around $40K.

Back in 1995 (!), that wouldn't have even gotten you CLOSE to a new Q45 (the closestcar to the new M). Consider what $54900 (the selling price of my Q in 1995) would buy you IN TODAY'S dollars...

The M is a great deal - And I'd jump on an 03 pronto if I were in a position to do so - The deals they are making on them are just outstanding.

Hey Olu! Good to see you again!

I fee you guys. Palmer I know what you mean. I need to find a new PC so I can stay on this forum more often. I'm keeping my Q for awhile. Until I hit Lotto!

Uhhhh..Hitman, you've seen it? And you're not sharing? Pictures? Probably not, how about a detailed description? I for one am completely confused with the good deals available on this car right now versus the rumors about better looks and improved performance on the newer model. Plus I'm confused about when the new model really arrives. Can you help?

New M35/M45 could happen by Fall. Initial run on M45 is only 18 months, so as soon as they clear the lots, new version will follow soon after.

But the current car is SUCH a value!!

Also ,word is, the new M45 improvements will be improved styling but same powertrain.

I could see waiting if a 400hp 6 speed version would be available but same powertrain ? I think the current one will do me just fine.

Fred..:D

I hope they add more room..... current M45 is pretty cozy in front and back, esp. w/sunroof.

I agree ... it is a lot better without the sunroof. My 2003 M45 is smaller inside, by a tiny small margin, than my 1995 Q45, but I am happy anyway! :D

Think '63 Continental meets '90 Q45 with a JWT ECU and a bad attitude. :D
