Im doing all the maintanance on my car right now after my car had been down for a few days due to my injector problem.... I had a brand new rebuild alternator i wanted to always change out because i have time to finally do it. Better than one day having that stupid Low battery charge light come up again....lol. Anyways, today i kinda pulled it too much and there is a WHITE and WHITE/RED wire that attaches on the alternator. Which side is white and which is white/red on the prong? any pictures? sorry guys.... Much help appreciated

I believe he's got a '94. Sorry don't have my FSM on this machine so I'll have to get back to you on that one if someone else doesn't help first.

Looking on the harness side of the alternator harness, the W/R goes on the left

CONFIRM please...so looking at it from the back...The white/RED would go to the right side of this pic right? where i inserted the Black wire??

no that picture is the harness side, so you need to put that on the left side.

White gets battery voltage through the under hood fusebox, the white/red goes through a few connectors and to an alternator resistor and the combination meter to the alternator fuse inside the cabin.

The reason why i said the White/RED wire might be on the Right side of the plug is because I have a picture of a Q45 Alternator that someone on NICO was selling a while ago and the Red/White goes on the right judging by the pictures because they just cut off the wires .... Also my SR20det Alternator is the same way. Same plugs too....I still have time to put it on. My alternator is comming in tomorrow so i dont want to rush and splice the wrong wires in. As we all know here.... The Q is frustrating as hell to remove and install the alternator... but yea, you get what im saying...Photobucket is down but i'll show you the picture soon... it gets my confused

OK so.....the alternator is in...I was happy YAY....everything was fine for a while.... voltage started to rise... then when i was driving home...The tCS, brake, Low battery light came on again. Battery is fresh and new too. I have a volt meter in my car and i was like WHOA...the voltage is now at 15.8! kinda too high i think. I took your advice and put the white and red wire on the LEFT side....my buddy said that might have been wrong and its supposed to be the other way around. Do you think this could be it? i cant tackle it now..its 3AM in the morning and OOOBER cold. let me know what you think guys

EDIT::: everything is all fixed. I was right about the wiring. White/RED go on the right. and White wire goes on the left side of the plug. This solved all the spiking problems. THANKS for the help guys... By far the most frustrating alternators i've ever replaced ROFL
