Q45 '96 A/C condenser cooling fan won't run

The condenser cooling fan won't run. I can get the fan to run by grounding it. The relay seems to be OK. Any idea what the problem might be?

The condensor fan does not come on all the time, it only comes on when high side AC pressure gets above a certain pressure.

The fan is set to come on when high side pressure is 206-220psi+ and then will turn off at about 178-192...

So basically if your high side pressure is below 200 then thats why your fan isnt coming on.

Ditto what Wes said,also comes on if coolant temp rises above set point,either on low or high depending on position of a/c switch

Thanks for the info. I've checked and the high side is above 200 psi, but the fan doesn't kick in. Where do I go from here?

check relay,jump pins in relay socket-if still no go,inspect high pressure switch on dryer,inspect all wiring,but first hotwire fan directly with 12 volts to be sure motor isnt toast

I would suspect the switch too... Ive found that sometimes mine doesnt come on either all the time.... FWIW.
