Dennis (or others):
I have access to a mechanic who will "build" me a new rearend in exchange for some work I'm doing for him. Questions regarding this job:
Am I correct in the assumption that the "donor" car should be a 90-96 300ZX N/A?
Do I need the whole rearend or can I pull the ring/pinion and associated "innards"? In other words, can I use MY housing/axles and do the swap "in-car"?
Can I also pull the driveshaft speed sensor from the donor car or should I just buy new from Nissan?
In an earler post, you mentioned differences in the differential output/input shaft lengths - given that my Q is a non-active, non-TCS "t" model, will this present a problem?
Finally, what kind of $ is fair for the required parts? I've already scouted a few potential "donors", just gotta check their mileage now.
Anything else I should be aware of? Help, guys, I need some more 0-60 OOOOMPH!
