Hello,Quick question: According to the owner's manual (Q45, 1994) the Standard spark plugs are the PFR5G; the PFR6G are supposedly "cold". Infinitipartsusa recommends the PFR6G. Are these ok? What is the main difference between the two? Which one will give the best performance? IS it better to stay with the PFR5G?Tks.

Depends on your location [Canada or Arizona] and your driving style.Long high speed drives daily vs crank and drive 5 miles, then constant repeats.

The worst for fouling is the 5 mile/10-15 minute operation needs hotter plug. Blended mix needs middle range.

For the 94 Q the stock plugs were the 5g's

Unless you always get the car up to operating temp or regualrly redline the car, the 5g's are what you want.

There was a TSB about switching from the 5Gs to the 6Gs... they say theres no performance difference in the TSB... but the hotter plugs are obviously less likely to foul.

This is defenitely my case: Short (15 to 20 minutes) daily runs with only a couple of relatively hard accelerations (4~5k RPM) going up a hill.Based on this I guess I should stick with the PFR5G's. Correct? I just don't want to do all the work and later find out that I didn't use the right plugs!Tks.

http://www.nissan-techinfo.com/infiniti/ has all the TSB and FSM from 1994 on.

One day subscription costs $20, the best investment you can make.

In WA state, you should use the 6. If it is Western Australia, the 5 might be good in the summer.

acutally thats backwards. If you live in warmer climate youd want to use a colder plug, if you live in colder climate youd want to use the hotter plug (has to do with the amount of time at super rich warmup)

Wes, can you still get deals on these plugs?

I have about 40k on mine, and want to change them out.

I want to go to the colder plug, due to the NICO ECU and my warm climate and driver's style.

Thanks!

Joe had a great deal on them a while ago. I think Wes' contact turned flakey.
