Palmerwmd - I just noticed that you have the Antera style 17's on your car...that's one of the 2 rims that I was looking at - REALLY nice. So, I should only go to the 17's...I hadn't thought about performance degradation - I definitely don't want to be slowed down. What about the width of the tires - I was thinking 235/24 on the front and 245/45 on the rear - or should I mathc them up at either 235's or 245's all around. My friend has a 740I with 18's, 235/45 up front and 255/45 on the rear - looks good...

pics of my wheels on my car.My car is transportred to KY to be parted out soon.I wasnt looking to sell my beaustiful wheels soon (dependign on how wheels on my next car are)

Also taking them off would complicated my storage options.but I dont think they make those anymore and I already have an offer for them, will but am looking for a good one, to make it worth my while to make my car harder to store.

Fred..:)

PS: Some stores may still have them in stock, even tho they stopped making them (I been told) shop around.

When I first bought my 94Q, it had some attractive Fittipaldi wheels, but stock size. (They're still hiding out in my garage - not much market for them). When the tires wore out I swapped them for a set on Enkei 17", style 19 chrome wheels. It was in my budget and they look great!

On tires, I should have shopped more. I put on Goodyear Eagle RS/A, 215/50's. They were great as long as it didn't rain. My wife wouldn't drive my Q in the rain because of the poor traction and hydroplaning.

That was almost two years ago. I just swapped out the tires for Michelin Pilot Sport A/S, 225/45's yesterday. We'll see how they do in the rain, but I expect to be much happier with them. They have a traction rating of AA and yet a treadwear rating of 400. Comments on other boards are very positive. If guys driving M5's like them, they can't be a bad choice for the Q.

They are pricey, however. I shopped carefully and ran into a real deal on a set of 4 -- $158 each plus installation and tax. I better get two years out of these, too!

They look nice - are they chrome or polished aluminum..look like polished aluminum. I was leaning towards chrome rims...

Chrome is a bit too gaudy for me (but then maybe I age is starting to show).

I really prefer the matte silver look of those wheels.

I may put them on my next Q.Depending on the wheels that are on it when I buy it.both Q's I am curently considering very closely have nice aftermarkets on as it is tho.

Fred....:)
