While you're waiting for Thursday to come around, and if you suspect you may have a fuel pump or FPCU issue, and if you're a little bit mechanically inclined..... You may want to try jumpering the fuel pump to ground to see if the FPCU has gone bad.
Take off the panel in the trunk exposing the gas tank and rear deck. You can see the FPCU in the background mounted under the rear deck. Unplug it, examine the connector and FPCU for burnt connections, and then jumper the fuel pump to ground as shown in the pic. You've got to grind down the teeth of the alligator clip to get a grip on the connector and the other end of the jumper is clipped to the (unpainted) frame. If she fires up the FPCU is bad. You can also measure fuel pressure at the filter by teeing in a pressure gage. Have you heard a swarm of bees in your trunk lately?
There's lots of other things to check, including pulling the codes (see Q45.org Tech Help section) but you sound convinced about the fuel issue. Let us know what you find.
