My Q won't start this morning. I turn on the key to engage the starter and nothing, not even the click that leads you to a bad solenoid/starter or battery. I have full power from the battery and all accesories are working fine. I tried a jump start off my wife's car and she won't turn over.

This is the third morning in a row it's happened. Once it warms up outside she will randomly start fine and do fine all day. Yesterday I replaced the starter relay located under the hood next to the ABS but this morning I have the same problem.

I've had bad starters on other vehicles but normally I hear a clicking solenoid or other sound when I turn the key. I'm putting her up on jacks right now and I'm going to jumper the two leads on the starter to see if I can get the engine to turn over. Has anyone else had this problem?

Is that the same name for the starter relay I replaced yersterday? I'll look at the schematic now but off the top of your head do you know which of the 4 leads to jumper?

Thanks Wes.

The problem was the starter. I did some more searching after she wouldn't turn over the morning after replacing the starter relay. Everything pointed to a bad starter. I put a new one in yesterday and all is fine.

Strange we rarely replace Q starters. Mile has last 16.5 years and 307,000 miles.

Miles per crank? But then again 12-13 years is a good cost effective life.
