Ok. I did some mintenence the other day that was due. In the order it went, I changed the spark plugs ( with dealer plugs) cleaned the coil packs with electronic cleaner (as per wes's website instructions) and dielectric grease and put it all back together and also cleaned the maf. Also followed wes's instructions in doing this as well.

Since this I have a shutter when sitting at idle in gear(around 850 rpm) Not a steady shutter but a "hick-up". It is random and brief each time it happens. Initially it was an infrequent thing but now it has increased all within a 100 mile window from the "tune-up".

Any suggestions?

Why at 850 rpm? Did you adjust teh IAC valve? USE OEM specified NGK plugs?

I appreciate your post MAX however I traced the problem down to the #4 cylinder. The coil pack is opperating properly but the boot had a small failure somewhere. I taped it with electrical tape and it is functioning properly again. Noone in the area has the coils in stock or the boots. Doing some research to see where I can get the boots individually or the coils. I also used oem ngk from the infiniti dealer.

I didn't adjust the IAC valve and I guess I overstated the indrive idle speed. it is just above the 500 mark.

Thanks again. and if you have a line on the boots for the coils I would much rather replace it than the entire coil assembly.

Boots being the wiring plug?
